This section covers the LUT (lookup table), which is preset data that enables easy color grading of Canon Log data.

CMT 709/CMT DCI/CMT PQ/CMT HLG

Gamma settings serve as the starting point for grading in post-production, and the following LUTs for CMT 709/CMT DCI/CMT PQ/CMT HLG are available for conversion from Canon Log 2/Canon Log 3. You can make the grading process easier by importing content recorded with Canon Log 2/Canon Log 3 into color editing software and applying LUTs.

Curves with a wide dynamic range based on Log attributes deliver hues that match the various color spaces and gamma range, making them optimal grading starting points.

Note: When using a CMT LUT on the camera, we recommend that you use it for monitoring during log shooting. Instead of using the Look file function of the camera, you can use the color grading software to convert the image to the recorded movie, which makes it possible to take advantage of log shooting.
