General Precautions
Caution
- Image stabilization by the camera is disabled when VR lenses are attached.
- Movies recorded on the EOS R6 Mark II or EOS R7 under the following conditions cannot be imported to EOS VR Utility.
- With [HDMI RAW output] set to [On]
- In Creative filter mode
- Operate the camera as follows when sending video to an external recording device via HDMI.
- Do not use peaking. With peaking activated, images are recorded with the peaking color applied.
- To magnify display or switch between left/right lens display, use camera buttons. Touch operations on the camera screen are not possible.
- Peaking display may be hard to discern at high ISO speeds, especially when ISO expansion is set. To check peaking, consider reducing the ISO speed temporarily.
- For evaluative metering, metering is centered on the area shown in a magnified view ().
- Flash metering in flash photography may be less accurate. Take some test shots in advance.
- Shooting distance information cannot be displayed.
- Touch operations on the camera screen are not possible during HDMI video output to an external recording device. To magnify display or switch between left/right lens display, use camera buttons.

When using the EOS R5

Red [] display
- A red [] icon may be displayed if repeated movie recording or extended use of Live View display increases the camera's internal temperature. Turn off the camera or take other measures when a red [] icon is displayed, and wait until the camera cools down.
- The camera will turn off automatically if you continue recording while a red [] icon is displayed. The camera may also turn off automatically if you continue using Live View display while a red [] icon is displayed.
- The red [] icon may be displayed while [: Auto pwr off temp.] is set to [Standard].

White [] display
- A white [] icon is displayed in hot environments or when factors such recording movies or displaying images on the screen over extended periods increase the camera's internal temperature. If this condition continues, a red [] icon will be displayed. Note that the time until a red [] appears after the white [] icon varies depending on shooting conditions.
- The white [] icon may be displayed while [: Auto pwr off temp.] to [High].

Red [] display
- The red [] icon indicates that movie recording will soon be terminated automatically. Note that the time until movie recording stops automatically when the red [] icon is displayed varies depending on shooting conditions.
- Red [] icon display indicates that movie recording will soon stop automatically, so turn the camera off or take other measures, and wait until it cools down. Moreover, when you are not shooting or recording, always turn off the camera.
- After movie recording automatically stops, you will be unable to record movies or shoot still photos until the camera has cooled down.

When using the EOS R7
- White [] internal temperature warning icon
- A white [] icon indicates high internal camera temperature. The white [] icon indicates that the image quality of still photos will decline. Stop shooting for a while and allow the camera to cool down.
- If the camera's internal temperature is high, the quality of images shot with a high ISO speed or long exposure may decline even before the white [] icon is displayed.

When using the EOS R5 C (in movie mode)
- [Spotlight] is not available in [Light Metering].
- Magnified view is not available with these settings.
