Connection procedure

EOS-1D X Mark III

  • Operations on the camera (1)

    1. Press the MENU button on the camera.

    2. Select [Data transfer: Network settings].

    3. Select [Enable].

    4. Select [Connection settings].

    5. Select [SET* Unspecified].

    6. Select [Create with wizard].

    7. Select [Configure online].

      • Select [OK].
    8. Select [Smartphone].

      • Select [OK].
    9. Select [Wi-Fi].

      • Select [OK].
    10. Select [New settings].

      • Select [OK].
    11. Select a network.

      • When using a tethered connection, select the name of the network specified in Smartphone settings.
      • When using an access point, select the name of the access point you want to connect to.
    12. Enter the password.

      • When using a tethered connection, enter the password specified in Smartphone settings.
      • When using an access point, enter the password for the access point to connect to.
      • Enter the password and select [OK].
    13. Select [Auto setting].

      • Select [OK].
    14. Select [Disable].

      • Select [OK].
    15. Press SET

    16. Select [New settings].

      • Select [OK].
    17. Verify the IP address.

      • When using a tethered connection, verify the IP address displayed on the camera monitor.
  • Operations on the smartphone (1)

    1. Launch MFT.

    2. Tap [Connect] (tethered connections only).

    3. Follow the directions.

      Tethered connections

      • Enter the IP address verified in Step 17.
      • Tap [OK].

      Access point mode

      • Tap the camera to connect to.
  • Operations on the camera (2)

    1. Select [OK].

    2. Press SET

    3. Press SET

  • Operations on the smartphone (2)

    1. Transfer the image.

      • Use MFT to transfer the image to the FTP server.

EOS R5EOS R6

  • Operations on the camera (1)

    1. Press the MENU button on the camera.

    2. Select [Wireless features: Wi-Fi/Bluetooth connection].

    3. Select [SmartphoneConnect to smartphone].

    4. Select [OK].

    5. Select [Add a device to connect to].

    6. Select [Do not display].

    7. Select [Connect via Wi-Fi].

    8. Select [Switch network].

    9. Select a network.

      • When using a tethered connection, select the name of the network specified in Smartphone settings.
      • When using an access point, select the name of the access point you want to connect to.
    10. Enter the password.

      • When using a tethered connection, enter the password specified in Smartphone settings.
      • When using an access point, enter the password for the access point to connect to.
      • Enter the password and select [OK].
    11. Select [Auto setting].

      • Select [OK].
    12. Select [Disable].

      • Select [OK].
    13. Verify the IP address.

      • When using a tethered connection, verify the IP address displayed on the camera monitor.
  • Operations on the smartphone (1)

    1. Launch MFT.

    2. Tap [Connect] (tethered connections only).

    3. Follow the directions.

      • Enter the IP address verified in Step 13.
      • Tap [OK].

      • Tap the camera to connect to.

    1. Select [OK].

  • Operations on the smartphone (2)

    1. Transfer the image.

      • Use MFT to transfer the image to the FTP server.

EOS-1D X Mark II

Attach wireless file transmitter WFT-E8 to the camera and follow these steps.

  • Operations on the camera (1)

    1. Press the MENU button on the camera.

    2. Select [Set-up: Communication settings].

    3. Select [Enable].

    4. Select [Network settings].

    5. Select [Connection settings].

    6. Select [SET* Unspecified].

    7. Select [Connection wizard].

    8. Select [Smartphone].

      • Select [OK].
    9. Select [Wireless].

      • Select [OK].
    10. Select [Select a network].

      • Select [OK].
    11. Select the network name.

      • When using a tethered connection, select the name of the network specified in Smartphone settings.
      • When using an access point, select the name of the access point you want to connect to.
    12. Enter the password.

      • When using a tethered connection, enter the password specified in Smartphone settings.
      • When using an access point, enter the password for the access point to connect to.
      • Enter the password and select [OK].
    13. Select [Auto setting].

      • Select [OK].
    14. Verify the IP address.

      • When using a tethered connection, verify the IP address displayed on the camera monitor.
  • Operations on the smartphone (1)

    1. Launch MFT.

    2. Tap [Connect].

    3. Follow the directions.

      Tethered connections

      • Enter the IP address verified in Step 14.
      • Tap [OK].

      Access point mode

      • Tap the camera to connect to.
  • Operations on the camera (2)

    1. Select [OK].

      • Once [Settings complete] appears, press SET.
  • Operations on the smartphone (2)

    1. Transfer the image.

      • Use MFT to transfer the image to the FTP server.
