Using Commercially Available Mobile Batteries to Charge/Power the Camera

EOS R1

Use of an optional USB Power Adapter PD-E1 or PD-E2 is recommended, because commercially available mobile batteries and power adapters may not charge or supply power correctly. (As of October 2024)

  • Before charging the battery pack, set the camera power switch to Power off.
  • When powering the camera, set the camera power switch to Power on.

Operation of the following products has been verified. Although full functionality is not ensured, the products can be used to charge or power the camera over a USB Type-C cable. (As of October 2024)

Use of products that support output of at least 45 W is recommended.

  • Verified mobile batteries
    • Anker 537 Power Bank (PowerCore 24000, 65W) (A1379)
    • Note that using both ports at once may cause the power supply to drop or stop. Use only one port at a time.
  • Combinations of charger and USB Type-C cable

      • Power bank: Anker Nano II 65W (A2663)

      USB Type-C cable:

      • Interface Cable IFC-100U
      • Anker PowerLine III Flow USB-C to USB-C cable (1.8 m) (A8553)

EOS R3

Use of USB Power Adapter PD-E1 (sold separately) is recommended, because commercially available mobile batteries may not charge the battery correctly.

  • Cannot power the camera.

  • Before charging, set the camera power switch to Power off.

    Note that the camera will not be charged when it is Power off if you are controlling it from a smartphone.

Note that in-camera charging of Battery Pack LP-E6 is not supported by the EOS R7.

This camera cannot be charged or powered by commercially available mobile batteries.

Moreover, charging and powering is not possible with an optional USB Power Adapter PD-E1. (As of May 2023)

PowerShot V10

Use of USB Power Adapter PD-E1 (sold separately) is recommended, because commercially available mobile batteries may not charge the battery correctly.
