Using Commercially Available Mobile Batteries to Charge/Power the Camera

EOS R3

Use of USB Power Adapter PD-E1 (sold separately) is recommended, because commercially available mobile batteries may not charge the battery correctly.

  • Cannot power the camera.
  • Before charging, set the camera power switch to Power off.

    Note that the camera will not be charged when it is Power off if you are controlling it from a smartphone.

Operation of the following products has been verified. Although full functionality is not ensured, the products can be used to charge or power the camera. (As of September 2021)

  • Verified mobile batteries: Anker PowerCore III Elite 25600 60W*1
  • Verified USB chargers: Anker PowerPort III 65W Pod*2
  • 1: Verified using the cable included with the battery.
  • 2: Verified using an Anker PowerLine III USB-C to USB-C cable (0.9 m).

Note that in-camera charging of Battery Pack LP-E6 is not supported by the EOS R7.

This camera cannot be charged or powered by commercially available mobile batteries.

Moreover, charging and powering is not possible with Canon USB Power Adapter PD-E1. (As of May 2023)
