Fv: Flexible-Priority AE

In this mode, you can set shutter speed, aperture value, and ISO speed manually or automatically and combine these settings with your choice of exposure compensation. Shooting in [Flexible-priority AE] mode, with control over each of these parameters, is equivalent to shooting in [Program AE], [Shutter-priority AE], [Aperture-priority AE], or [Manual exposure] mode.

[Fv] stands for Flexible value.

  1. Set the shooting mode to [Flexible-priority AE].

    • Press the MODE button, then turn the Main dial dial to select [Flexible-priority AE].
  2. Set the shutter speed, aperture value, and ISO speed.

    • Turn the Main dial dial to set the option.
    • To reset the setting to [AUTO], press the Erase button.
  3. Set the amount of exposure compensation.

  • Blinking of the values indicates a risk of underexposure or overexposure. Adjust the exposure until the value stops blinking.

Slow synchro is not used under low light when you have set up [Flexible-priority AE] mode to resemble [Aperture-priority AE] or [Program AE] mode, even when [Slow synchro] in [Shooting: External Speedlite control] is set to [1/250-30sec. auto] (or [1/200-30sec. auto]).
