Responding to Error Messages

When an error occurs, display the details of the error by following one of the procedures below. Then, eliminate the cause of the error by referring to the examples shown in this chapter.

  • View error messages on the home screen.
  • Tap the camera icon in the message display area of the home screen.

W01: No access points found (error code: W01). For details, check the Advanced Guide online.

  • Check whether the SSID entered for the wireless LAN access point during the webcam setting procedure () is correct.
  • Check the access point settings ().
  • Check whether the access point is communicating using a channel and frequency supported by the camera (). Also, when the access point channel is selected automatically, selecting one of the channels supported by the camera manually is recommended.
  • Check whether the power of the access point has been turned on.

W02: Make sure that you entered the correct access point password (error code: W02). For details, check the Advanced Guide online.

  • Check whether the password entered for the wireless LAN access point during the webcam setting procedure () is correct.
  • Check the password settings for the access point ().

W03: An error occurred in webcam mode (error code: W03). For details, check the Advanced Guide online.

  • A connection could not be established with the access point.
  • Check the access point settings ().

W04: An error occurred in webcam mode (error code: W04). For details, check the Advanced Guide online.

  • Check whether the security entered for the wireless LAN access point during the webcam setting procedure () is correct.
  • Check the network authentication and data encryption settings for the access point ().

W05: An error occurred in webcam mode (error code: W05). For details, check the Advanced Guide online.

What to check at the access point

  • No address was assigned by the DHCP server.
  • Check the DHCP settings for the access point.

What to check on the DHCP server

  • Is the power of the DHCP server on?

    • Turn on the DHCP server.
  • Are there enough addresses for assignment by the DHCP server?

    • Increase the number of addresses assigned by the DHCP server.
    • Remove devices assigned addresses by the DHCP server from the network to reduce the number of addresses in use.
  • Is the DHCP server working correctly?

    • Check the DHCP server settings to make sure it is working correctly as a DHCP server.
    • If applicable, ask your network administrator to ensure the DHCP server is available.

W06: An error occurred in webcam mode (error code: W06). For details, check the Advanced Guide online.

  • Wi-Fi conditions may be poor.
  • Do not use near devices such as microwave ranges that have a frequency in the 2.4 GHz band.
  • Bring this product near the device to which it will be connected (e.g., an access point or computer) without placing anything between the two.
  • Check whether an error has occurred on the device to which this product is connected.
