Changing Auto Image Deletion Settings

To avoid running out of free space on cards, captured images can be automatically deleted.

Caution

  • If you turn on [Image auto delete], be sure to tag as favorites any images you would like to keep or save them to a smartphone or computer before they are eventually deleted.

  1. Access the settings screen.

  2. Tap [Basic Camera Set.].

  3. Turn on [Image auto delete].

Caution

  • Images are deleted to provide 2 GB of free space on cards of 8 GB or higher capacity when the free space drops below 1 GB.
  • On cards with a capacity of less than 8 GB, images are deleted to clear 25% of the card as free space when the free space drops below 12%.
  • Older images are deleted first.
  • Images are tagged as favorites are not deleted.
  • Images are not deleted when the camera is connected to a smartphone.
  • [Image auto delete] is automatically turned off when a card becomes full of files excluded from auto deletion.
  • Images are kept for at least one day before they may be deleted automatically.
