Gamma converts the sensor output signal tone characteristics. As shown in the graph below, tone characteristics change according to the curve, and curves are determined by various settings. You can fine tune the Picture Style contrast settings and Custom Picture Knee and Black settings.
Color Space
The range of color that can be reproduced is known as the color space. Compared to BT.709, BT.2020 and Cinema Gamut are wider, offering more diverse color possibilities. The color space that can be used in camera recording settings is determined in combination with gamma settings. Also, to display a wide color space correctly, video output equipment, such as a display that supports the color space, is required.
