When shooting moving subjects, set [AF operation] to [Servo AF], set [AF area] to [Flexible Zone AF] or [1-point AF], and set [Whole area tracking Servo AF] to [Enable] to shoot while tracking the subject acquired in the AF area across the entire screen.

Setting [Servo AF characteristics] to [Case Auto] [Case Auto characteristics: 0] allows the camera to handle many different moving subjects.

We recommend setting [Display frame rate setting] to [Smooth]. When [Suppress lower frame rate] is checked, the lower frame rate can be suppressed on shooting screen even in low light. However, the AF may not match properly.

If it is difficult to focus or difficult to align the AF frame with the subject using the basic settings, see Subjects and Recommended Settings by Scene in Chapter 6-1 and later.

Also, see Chapter 5 for tips on how to master [AF area] settings and [Whole area tracking Servo AF] settings.
