5-5 Assists in photo selection by detecting blurring/out-of-focus
Detects blurring/out-of-focus from images and uses them as a reference for selecting photos.
If images captured on the EOS R5 Mark II include a person's face, the main subject's facial blurring level information (score) is automatically recorded in the image based on subject detection and AF information. (When shooting with electronic shutter, set [Subject to Detect: Person], and JPEG/HEIF).
Based on the score recorded in the image, an icon is displayed when played back if a certain standard is exceeded. This supports image selection by displaying an icon on the playback screen to indicate whether an image is blurred.
*[Blur/out-of-Focus image detection] [Icon display] [Enable] is required for display.
An icon is displayed on images that are above or below the standard when played back on the camera. (The standard can be adjusted in three levels.) Also, you can display the score in four levels in Digital Photo Professional.
- In the [Detection level] [Standard] setting, an icon is displayed to indicate whether the image has a small amount of blur or out-of-focus when zoomed in by an actual size magnification. We recommend the [Low] setting if you want to determine whether an image has a larger blur or out-of-focus, or the [High] setting if you want to narrow down the selection to an image with less blur or out-of-focus.
- Any detection level may be judged incorrectly depending on conditions such as the subject and environment. We recommend that you check the actual focus while referring to the detection.
