1-1 AF Area
Setting the scope of the focusing area
The AF area is used for setting the scope of the focusing area.
You can select an AF area configured for different conditions such as the size of a subject and how much it moves, ignoring other subjects, and whether a subject's movement is easy to predict.
- 1-point AF Basic AF area setting
- Spot AF For focusing in a smaller area than 1-point AF, or for ignoring other subjects
- Expand AF area For focusing in a larger area than 1-point AF, for significant subject movement, and for when it is difficult to lock the AF frame in the same position due to camera shake
- Flexible Zone AF For using a larger area than the expand area setting, and for significant subject movement that is difficult to capture even in expand area
- Whole area AF For focusing in a larger area than Flexible Zone AF
The area size can be customized in Flexible Zone AF, so it is a good option for matching to the subject size and movement, and for keeping obstacles out of the frame.
Setting it to landscape is useful for when subjects only move horizontally.
