1-3 Custom Picture and Picture Style 3

Settings intended for color grading (Canon Log 2/Canon Log 3), Picture Style, which does not require color grading, and Custom Picture (Canon 709/BT.709 Standard), which also does not require color grading, each have their own characteristics.

Canon Log 2/Canon Log 3

These settings are intended for color grading, and record a wide dynamic range and color space. Unlike settings that do not require color grading, they can capture rich tones and colors even in wide dynamic ranges. Recorded footage is color graded with editing software and then output as an SDR or HDR movie. These settings deliver the same basic image styles of Canon Log 2 and Canon Log 3 included on conventional EOS and CINEMA EOS models, and can be used together.

Picture Style Standard

Canon 709/BT.709 Standard

No grading is required for these settings. Canon 709 is a gamma setting that focuses on faithfully reproducing skin tones and delivers film-like shooting effects. It offers smooth skin tones and a wider dynamic range for highlights compared to Picture Style or BT.709 Standard. BT.709 Standard tones down the contrast for BT.709-compliant broadcast footage. Both can be used in combination with conventional CINEMA EOS cameras.
